Moderate tours are designed for cyclists who want full, satisfying days in the saddle without extreme demands. Distances are achievable, surfaces are generally high quality, and climbs are present but manageable rather than relentless. The pace allows riders to build daily momentum while still enjoying scenic routes, cultural highlights, and the social rhythm of the group.
Ideal for: regular cyclists confident riding day after day.
Browse ToursSerious riding for cyclists ready to push further.
Challenging tours deliver longer riding days with frequent climbs and mixed terrain that demands both fitness and consistency. Expect sustained efforts, occasional rougher surfaces, and conditions that may include heat or moderate altitude, all contributing to cumulative fatigue. These tours are tough but achievable for riders who train regularly and thrive on physical challenge.
Ideal for: experienced cyclists with strong fitness who ride year-round.
Browse ToursSerious expeditions for riders who thrive on demanding terrain and big days.
Difficult tours are defined by high cumulative ascent, repeated long climbs, and extended distances through rugged or remote landscapes. Riders can expect rougher surfaces, sustained gradients, and environmental challenges such as wind exposure, variable weather, and significant altitude. These factors combine to create consecutive days that are physically and mentally demanding, but deeply rewarding for those who are prepared.
Ideal for: strong, confident cyclists with very good endurance and regular training.
Browse ToursBig rides made accessible, without losing the joy of cycling.
E-Bike tours use gentle electric assistance to open up routes, climbs, and distances that might otherwise feel out of reach. Steeper hills become manageable, longer days feel more achievable, and riders can focus less on effort and more on scenery, culture, and the shared experience. Whether on road or trail, e-bikes make challenging terrain feel enjoyable and confidence-building rather than intimidating.

The stunning beauty of Patagonia will take your breath away. This trip provides a variety of rides, on different terrains which adds to the adventure of the trip.
I was lucky enough to go horse riding on the rest day in San Carlos de Bariloche, which i would highly recommend for riders and non riders.
Susan Redfern, Rochdale, England, UK View TourWe had a thoroughly enjoyable experience in this beautiful country. Our guides were such kind ,warm and friendly people. Their knowledge of local wildlife, agriculture and history was fascinating. They could not do enough for us. The hotels were way above our expectations and the food was fabulous.
If you want to get a feel for the charms of Sri Lanka this tour is definitely a must.
Lynne and Andy , Manchester, England, UK View TourThis was a well-organised trip using a good mix of hotels. There were days when we were transferred by minibus to make best use of time and landscapes. Using boats in places gave the trip a special feel. The guiding was of a high standard and we were very fortunate to enjoy good weather throughout. Strongly recommended.
Dr David Snowball, Wakefield, England, UK View Tour
Very impressed with the quality of service by this local company it could not have been better in terms of ‘the team’. Waruna and the other 6 members were excellent. I felt that Waruna managed us as cyclists well. Despite us being a diverse group in terms of needs and abilities I felt that he changed and amended routes/enrichment experiences constantly!
I have no hesitation in recommending this trip to anyone. I will indeed based upon this trip be booking another one in the future!
Lindsey Shenton, Isle of Wight, England, UKDiego, Yal and Mattias were an outstanding team. Endlessly helpful, hard working and totally at ease with the British sense of humour. They were absolutely key to the success of the trip.
I was expecting a mixture of accommodation and was happy with all of them. Puerto Blest was very special, loved the eco-lodge, which was a great place to finish.
Mrs Philippa Sanders, Petworth, England, UK View Tour
I just love seeing a country on a bike; slow enough to really experience it, but fast enough to see the variation. And was a variation Sri Lanka has, bot culturally and naturally! Waruna, Chamara and Anu showed did a fantastic job in showing us the best of it and always with a smile, like all people in Sri Lanka.
We took the time to stop at tea factories, rubber plantages, a school, temples and more, which made me not only come home fitter than I was, but also a bit wiser. The hotels were generally very comfortable, hot showers and often a pool, a luxury that I did not expect, but greatly enjoyed. Thanks a lot for a fantastic holiday!
Dominique Bongaerts, Leiden, NetherlandsAnother excellent trip from Redspokes. Sri Lanka is a diverse country to visit by bike with it’s history, culture, friendly locals and amazing scenery. Waruna and his team of helpers served us well throughout the trip. The snack stops were great with delicious local snacks served up daily. The trip was very well run and the bikes hired were ideal for the trip. Waruna was an excellent leader with a vast knowledge of his country. His knowledge enhanced the trip and gave us a good flavour of life in Sri Lanka. Thank you Redspokes you’ve delivered once again!
Muriel Thomson, Aberdeen, Scotland View TourToucans, kingfishers, green winged pigeons, pelicans, green bee eaters, chestnut eaters, lizards, elephants, crocodiles, flowers, Buddhas tooth, exploring and kindness by all.
Fantastic tour and great team leading it. Memories, memories, memories!
Klaud Simpson, Cambridge, England, UK View TourIt was an excellent overview of Sri Lanka, with a good mix of culture and wildlife viewing to complement the cycling. Both food and accommodation were remarkably good throughout.
David Voas, London, England, UK View TourSri Lanka is beautiful and amazing and a bike tour with Redspokes is the best way to see the country. Our guides worked tirelessly to provide a rich cultural experience and their hospitality amazed us. Best to switch Strava off for this tour.
John Homer, Cullompton, England, UK View TourA fantastic trip, great route, wonderful scenery and the 3 guides were excellent. The accommodation was excellent; particularly memorable was the stay at the Eco-Lodge. I would fully recommend this trip to others contemplating such a holiday.
Michael Catley, Harrogate, England, UK View TourI want to start by saying that I really enjoyed the trip. Tolkeyen, Yal and Laura were great to put up with all of our needs. The views were spectacular, the combo of biking and boating was so enjoyable, and the experiences – swimming, walking, waterfalls, etc. were lovely. I would recommend this trip to others.
Molly Galetto, Idaho, USA View TourA fantastic trip to part of Argentina we knew so little about. Almost every day was a WOW day. Stunning scenery, locations and things to do, with a very professional support team. Claudio and Yal were very good and as a consequence everything worked like clockwork. We’re tempted to say do this trip instead of popular Patagonia, but having done both, so should anyone reading this review.
Tim Johnson , Burley in wharfedale, England, UK View TourWe had a fabulous time. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, with such wonderful people – not least our Guide and Drivers – and the tour enabled us to see so many aspects of its culture and heritage. It was a great experience, really well organised by redspokes so the cycling was manageable, and something we’ll never forget.
Martin Barnes, Durham View TourThe Redspokes Chile/Argentina tour is an exceptional tour, not only because of the uniqueness and beauty of the Patagonia region and the Andes mountain range, but also because of being very well organized. Accommodation, food, support and guidance are all excellent!
Pine Pienaar, Lynwood, South Africa View TourA fantastic trip, which as well as the cycling offered so much more in terms of exploring this lovely country and its friendly people. The cycling was excellent, mainly on minor roads and tracks and so well supported by the team – Sampath is a brilliant guide answering questions and introducing everyone to Sri Lanka’s flora & fauna, culture, history and food & drink. Gayan and Prasad were great too, providing support with the minibus and jeep, topping up water and providing snacks and sorting out the bikes.
This was a great way to see the country and experience its culture and wildlife, the activities which are included as part of the package are wide ranging and include all of the ‘must sees’ in Sri Lanka. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the trip and have to say a big thank you to Sampath, Gayan and Prasad for all their help and support in making it such a great trip.
Gill Hay, Durham, England, UK View TourWow! Where do I begin. redspokes you’ve done it again! We had such an amazing time. It was such a colourful and interesting tour. Each day we would see such fascinating sighs not knowing what to expect next!
Our Guides Mr Sampath and Mr Waruna were both so interesting. Mr Sampath took us on the most beautiful paths and away from the noisy dangerous roads, to climbing hills through the tea plantations with spectacular scenery. One memorable day – we got up and went for an early pre dawn cycle. We were cycling In Sigiriya Rock National Park and we saw traces of elephant and sure enough we stopped and one walked across the road in front of us! He disappeared without a trace. Mr Waruna is a great historian. When we visited ancient temples he knows so much about each place. Other places of interest he was so knowledgeable. Our guides, drivers and helpers were equally so kind, friendly and helpful. They all went above and beyond their duties to make sure we were all happy and you couldn’t fault any of them. They were a really good team!
Kate Cammidge, Leigh-On-Sea, England, UK View TourAnother fabulous trip from red spokes. Our guide Waruna and all his team couldn’t have been more helpful. Lots of water stops and snacks en route were amazing, they took great care of us. Loved staying in the tea plantations and visiting homesteads for fabulous Sri Lankan cooking.
We had the opportunity to visit a reserve where we saw elephants and crocodiles in the wild and lots of amazing birdlife. Really feel Waruna and the team wanted to show us the best of their country which is totally beautiful. Waruna is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and gave us a good insight into the culture and religious beliefs in Sri Lanka Can’t recommend it enough!! Fabulous Thank you all.
Gillian Mackie, Perth, Scotland View Tour
This trip was over all expectations. Riding the bike all day with local guides has been an amazing way to discover a new country, people, culture, food and traditions.
It was such a fulfilling trip in all ways that it will be hard to travel in any other way in the future. Thanks for this great experience!
Anna-Carin Nicolini, Thalwil, SwitzerlandMy wife and I had a great time on this trip. Our friends had recommended this bike tour and we were not disappointed. Neither my wife and I are strong cyclists, so we were a bit worried about the challenging bike conditions. But our concerns were misplaced, as the sag wagon was always available for my wife, who did not rent an e-bike. And with an e-bike, the riding was remarkably easy.
The staff was helpful and friendly throughout the trip, and we appreciated the emphasis on safety. The accommodations were excellent, often overlooking a beautiful lake. And it was a plus that our fellow travellers were great company.
Warren Gorlick, Washington, USA View TourOur recent trip to Morocco with Red Spokes was the perfect blend of challenge and comfort. Our guides were patient and engaging, the food was plentiful (we were never far from a delicious tajine) and the other travellers were experienced and really fun.
We felt a great sense of accomplishment and it was very special to have our son Aaron along with us. Now our only problem is to decide where to go next!
Jonas Barter and Mary Ann McKenna, Almonte, Canada View TourFabulous trip, super talented and thoughtful guides, great adventure! Loved every accommodation but especially the ones during all the cruce andino stops as well as San Martin de los Andes and La Baita in Parque Conguillo – super super excellent. Fabulous trip, super talented and thoughtful guides, great adventure!
I definitely will recommend this to my friends (and came on this trip because 2 of my Friends who are world travellers did it in 2025 and 2024 and they enthusiastically recommended it
Margaret Gleason, Washington, USA View TourAlthough there was some disruption due to events outwith the original plan the guides managed the situation very well. The guides clearly are very experienced and have fine tuned the whole experience to ensure we had the best possible time, for which I and my Son Matthew were extremely grateful.
This has been a truly memorable experience, made all the more possible by the care and professionalism of the staff. Although not mentioned above Karina (Bariloche tour guide help) was also extremely helpful and should also receive a mention. Thank you Redspokes for such a wonderful experience.
Nikolas Green, Market Drayton, England View TourAs it was my first Redspokes tour, I was hesitant about how I would fit in with the group and how I would manage the hills and gravel. I needn’t have been, as the group was wonderful, the guides friendly, informative and supportive and I could always walk the bike when the hills became too steep. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
Shirley Dobra, Tunbridge Wells, England, UK View TourAnother 5 star tour from Redspokes. I’ve been on 5 so far. Each one different; each one excellent. Tai and Diego were wonderful guides; encouraging us when the going got tough, amusing us with their humour and making sure everything ran smoothly.
The Patagonia tour gave us challenging cycling, stunning scenery and great friendships. Like all the other tours I’ve been on, it’s another unforgettable experience.
Paul Massie, Hatfield, England, UK View TourThis was such a fantastic trip. Chile and Argentina are wonderful countries, incredible scenery, lovely people and great accommodation. The tour was so well organised, everything seemed to work like clockwork, although I’m sure this was down to a lot of hard work of behalf of the guides and local team. We were very lucky to have superb weather and the group that I was with were great fun.
Peter Carey, London, England, UK View TourAn excellent trip. What a privilege to cycle through this amazing region. Well run tour with a friendly and helpful guide team.
Dave Tonge, Chorleywood, England, UK View TourThis was a great trip amazing scenery great rides and fun people. Super support from the ground team.
Dr Olive Herlihy, Peebles, Scotland, United Kingdom View TourA really fantastic trip – stunningly beautiful and diverse everyday. Fun guides and cycle mates. I appreciated some of the history and natural history the guides provided.
Catherine Dentinger, Atlanta, Georgia, United States View TourWe thoroughly enjoyed this cycle tour. It is our first time with Red Spokes and feel lucky to have come across them by chance while searching for bike tours in Chile on line. We chose Red spokes after we compared itineraries with 2 other companies and you had the most cycling miles/least miles in transfers, you had fantastic reviews and you were the best value.
The professionalism of the Bike Way team was outstanding. Tolke, our main leader was well organised, attentive, caring, encouraging, friendly, and good company. Yal, the same. They both could understand and join in British banter too. Mati and Santi were also helpful, kind, good fun and were happy up the front or bringing up the rear, encouraging all the way. Nestor, our driver in Argentina had obviously worked with Bike Way before and knew the ropes. We could not have asked for a better team.
We loved the lunch stops at a variety of restaurants and cafes that gave us insight into local cuisine. 2 stood out , the wonderful wooden house in San Martin de los Andes on 27th and the one in Cunco – Los Laurels 30th. Also the coffee stops and snacks were well planned, we were well cared for.
There were 10 of us on the tour, a mixture of couples and singles, a variety of cycling experiences and we had a great time together.
Elizabeth Mcgready, Warwick, England, UK View TourI arrived in Puerto Varas as a solo participant, but the group quickly bonded, making me feel right at home. The cycling turned out to be more challenging than I had expected, but I embraced it alongside everyone else and loved every moment, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life!
The accommodation was fantastic, each place had its own unique charm and was well chosen. The 5-star hotel in Bariloche was an unexpected treat, especially as it coincided with our rest day. The stunning lake views made it even more special.
Tolkeyen, Yal, Mateus, Sante were all so helpful and encouraging to us. They along with all the drivers and of course Karina who looked after us at Bariloche and in the background all the time.
Redspokes is a well-oiled machine, and I’m so grateful for such a memorable adventure. Thank you all, and best of luck!
Jonathan Waterer, Umberleigh, Devon, England, UK View TourThis tour was excellent. We were lucky to have great weather for the duration, the cycling was fantastic and the scenery spectacular. We were a big group (16) but we all got on really well and there was great camaraderie with a lot of laughs.
What made the trip so special though was the guides Diego, Yal and Matias. Their organisational and leadership skills were faultless, they communicated clearly to us about what lay ahead at various stages during the day, the lunch stops ran very smoothly and we had the opportunity to sample a great variety of local food, often in lovely rustic settings. We were given helpful dining suggestions for the evenings when the meal was not included and the guides often joined us. They were so friendly and personable that we never had the feeling that they were just being polite and doing their job.
All transfers were punctual and smooth and the whole tour run seamlessly. Diego did occasionally explain some of the logistics to us which helped us to gain insight into the incredible amount of thought and work that went into making each day such a success. We also had the chance to meet with other team members such as Karina and Marcel who undoubtedly worked hard behind the scenes to make this such an enjoyable holiday for all of us.
We can highly recommend this trip to other cycling enthusiasts.
Lindsay and Rainer Goldbeck, Aberdeen, Scotland View TourOur support team of Karina, Diego, Matthias and Yal were outstanding. They made everything very relaxed. Cannot commend them enough.
We’ve left Chilean & Argentinian Patagonia with such lovely memories of excellent travelling companions, stunning scenery, gorgeous food, a great variety of challenging (for me😂) cycling, even the weather was unbelievable.
All-in-all a fabulous holiday!
Anna and Harald, Chester, England, United Kingdom View TourThank you for a wonderful 2 weeks in Argentina & Chile. It was a most memorable holiday with many highlights to include 3 fantastic fun & caring guides, Yal , Gustavo and Tolkeyen, amazing ever changing scenery, comfortable hire bikes & a lovely group of 13 of us. The route was well thought out with quiet roads and a good balance of tarmac & gravel. Some of the best cycling were the days in the Argentinian Lake District. Even cycling up the volcano on the second day was worth the effort with a cosy lodge to stay in & far reaching views.
Vivienne Rust, Beckley, England, UK View TourPerfect time to go in their spring with flowers emerging and snow on the volcanoes and mountains. Well organised , the guides could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable about the area . I was the least experienced rider and found the cycling hard , especially the gravel but I was allowed to go at my own pace and encouraged.
Helen Botham, Stoke on Trent, England, UK View TourThis was an outstanding trip made extra special by the quality service and personal attention provided by the guides: Yal, Tai and Diego.
The beautiful scenery of Chile and Argentina, good quality accommodation and food, well-chosen routes, and a group that soon became new friends meant that I had a brilliant time.
Keith Aungiers, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK View TourThe staff were brilliant and the views were stunning, and we were blessed with the weather so everything fell into place.
Enjoyed the boat transfers.
Janet Perrins, Calne, England, United Kingdom View TourThe trip was absolutely wonderful! Good cycling, splendid scenary and comfortable accomodation.
The team (Tolke, Yal and Gustavo) did an amazing job, everything was run extremely smoothly and they were all incredibly nice – big thank you to all of them! :-) The landscapes and route generally was absolutely amazing, such a gorgeous and impressive place to be. And even better to be seeing it all cycling! :-)
Marleen and Hans Verhagen, Zeist, Netherlands View TourGreat tour, excellent guides, cheerful, knowledgeable, encouraging when occasionally required! Good mix of gravel & tarmac roads, both challenging at times wrt gradients.
I enjoyed the range of accomodation from basic hostel in the remoter areas to good hotels. Also the local food at lunchtime. And of course the wonderful scenery, relaxing boat trips too.
Donald Ross, Inverness, Scotland View TourThis was an incredible trip. Our guides, Yal, Diego and Matias worked so hard to make everything run smoothly. When we were faced with an unprecedented border closure they ensured we arrived in Argentina safely and it cannot have been easy for them.
Their patience and good humour made the trip for me and I would highly recommend anyone thinking of doing this and with a sense of adventure to give it a go.
Caroline & Hamish Aitken, Sevenoaks, London, UK View TourWe had an amazing trip through the Patagonian Lake District and were particularly impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the guiding team – everything went smoothly and seemed so effortless – a great reflection on the hard work of the team. Thank-you.
Helena and Martin Robinson, Haslemere, England, UK View TourWhat truly set this trip apart was the exceptional support team. Not only were they efficient and professional, but they also brought a sense of fun to the journey and showed genuine care for the slower riders. Their positive attitude made overcoming the weather obstacles much more manageable.
The accommodations, for the most part, were of high quality, and even those of lower standards had a unique charm due to their remote locations. The true highlights, however, were the daily lunches. As a food enthusiast, I was treated to a variety of interesting culinary experiences that added an extra layer of enjoyment to each day.
Many thanks redspokes for organising another unforgettable adventure!
Alastair Locke, Leeds, England View TourThis was my first ever group bike trip and it was a resounding success, not least due to the exceptional guiding team (Diego, Yall and Mateus) who were always so friendly and professional and ensured the smooth running of the tour on a day to day basis.
The scenery was of course spectacular. The bikes were great for cycling on both the well-maintained tarmac roads (which had a wide hard shoulder)and gravel. Our accommodation was excellent- from very comfortable hotels to simple hostel-style lodging in the more remote areas. The food was delicious – the thoughtfully selected lunch stops in small villages were particularly special. An amazing experience.
Thank you!
Bridie Russell, Inverness, Scotland View TourIn November we truly had all weathers – including snow up at the ski lodge! But we all braved it and smiled – as did the guides! I feel we saw a lot and crossing between the 2 countries was interesting. As the weather improved – so did the views.
I thought the final day, riding up beyond Baita Lodge and having a dip in a cold lake was really fabulous, a great way to end the tour. We ate well and were very well looked after – and with much humour.
Vicky Chamberlain, Exeter, England, UK View TourThis was my first bike trip, and it far exceeded my expectations. It was a superbly organized tour of the spectacular Patagonia/Lake District in Chile and Argentina. The guides, Tai, Yal and Diego, were excellent. As a relative newcomer to long-distance bike rides, I appreciated the helpful advice Tai gave me on how to better negotiate some of the challenging gravel trails. The accommodations were nicer than I expected, and the lunches substantial – perhaps too substantial!
The region is really fantastic, with highlights including the lakes, volcanos, interesting towns, and a Mapuche lunch with monkey puzzle tree nuts. Just an incredible variety of beautiful scenery, from the foot of the volcanic Mount Osorno to the lakeshore city of Bariloche, to the lava fields in Conguillio National Park.
Jeff Smith, Colorado, USA View TourThis was a well organised tour by excellent guides. Tolkeyen and Gustavo deserving of special mention. Karina was also a welcome addition part way through the trip. Accommodation was generally very good and some excellent. Lunches were substantial, I don’t think I have ever eaten as much!
The scenery is far reaching and amazing and we were fortunate enough to have very good weather in November. There are many highlights on this trip, but I enjoyed the gravel track from Puella to Puerto Frias, stunning views, and then onto Puerto Blest. Make sure you walk around the lake , and up the steps to the mountain lake before catching the ferry from Puerto Blest to Bariloche. The last ride through the lava fields in Conguillio national park is also surreal. All in all a fantastic trip, highly recommended.
Angela Jackson, Bradford, England, UK View TourA fantastic trip through the best part of the Patagonia Lake District. I was very impressed with the route, and the support crew. They even arranged perfect weather for us, and some tailwinds!
Huge Thanks to redspokes! A great trip was enjoyed by all. Very special for me to do this with eight friends, and we are already talking about the next one! The only difficulty is deciding on where!
Joseph Lee, Toronto, Canada View TourThe Chile/Argentina trip was a five star experience. We enjoyed every day of the journey. The guides Diego and Gustavo (with behind the scenes effort by Karina) were absolutely perfect. They met us at the beginning of the trip and explained how each day would go. They had to set up border crossings and a number of transfers by bus and all of these went smoothly.
The routes were well thought out and gave us a good sense of the spectacular nature that exists in that region of Argentina and Chile. We seriously can’t think of any change that would make this trip better.
Sandy Schreyer, Minnesota, USA View TourThis trip was better than expected, the choices of route, accommodation, restaurants were varied and all to high standard which I really can’t fault . The guides were always making sure everyone was safe , happy and having a great time .
I was travelling alone but everyone was so inclusive. I highly recommend this trip and Redspokes.
Jude Shaw, Shrewsbury, England, UK View TourThe holiday was simply amazing. Chile and Argentina are simply amazing countries. Amazing to cycle and such a wonderful experience. The 3 tour guides did RedSpokes proud. They were professional, kind, supportive, organised and very approachable.
This should reassure any new cyclist that they will be in safe hands. Simply put. Do it. Go for it. It was simply an experience that I recommend fully and I have never been in a country where panoramic views everyday become normal!
Klaud Simpson, Cambridge, England, UK View TourThis is a fantastic trip with awesome scenery along the way and some of the best days cycling I have every done. Some of the days are hard and some days are over a lot of gravel but the pain is worth it. The guides were the best and were fully attentive throughout helping with organisation, planning and stuff, always on hand.
Great bikes most seemed brand new Specialized. Generally a high standard of hotels based on our experience of other tour providers. And not least some of the best steaks and red wine you could ever want.
Michael Jackson, Bradford, England, UK View TourFantastic trip. Would highly recommend to friends. Was a little nervous before the trip about the level of cycling but it was fine and I completed all of it. As long as you are reasonably fit and do some regular cycling you will be fine. The bikes are perfectly geared for the terrain so the hills are quite manageable. As Jeronimo said after every up there is a fantastic down and it’s always accompanied by amazing scenery.
Lots of laughs, good company and great guides. Best description of Patagonian cycling from our guides -‘the roads are either updulating, downdulating or flatdulating!’ and they were. Loved it.
Rachel & Martin Millener, Wraxall, England, UK View TourWhat an amazing trip! Chile, Argentina & the Lake District of Patagonia are so incredibly beautiful and we never tired of the snow-capped mountains and volcanoes and the crystal clear water in the lakes.
Our two guides were so friendly and helpful & the trip was run extremely well.
We stayed in some gorgeous accommodation and ate in lovely restaurants recommended by the guides.
This was my 9th cycle tour (4th with redspokes) and one of my favourite destinations. Learning to speak Spanish is definitely on my agenda!
Ros Lawson, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom View TourMy 8th redspokes tour was definitely a 5 star one ! The mix of great accommodation, stunning scenery, amazing food and of course the usual redspokes level of challenging riding made for fantastic memories ! Our group was superbly lead by Tolkeyen and German.
The Patagonian adventure is definitely a must do !
Michael Litchfield, Emerald, Australia View TourMy sixth redspokes tour and among the best. The scenery was quite fantastic and it was an interesting area to visit. Other aspects excellent – good redspokes team, well planned routes, nice & interesting hotels and food. A very good group also helped.
Andrew Lindsay, Otford, England UK View TourComing from the South Island of New Zealand, we wondered if the Andean Lakes would offer anything different, but the scenery was amazing, on a grander scale – so many volcanoes! Our guides were very well organised, and also friendly and with a great sense of humour, and everything ran smoothly due to their efforts. There was a good mix of sealed and gravel roads, although not everyone liked the gravel – road-bikers might need to practice on rough gravel before taking this trip.
Staying overnight on the slopes of Osorno Volcano, crossing the Andes through pristine forest on the Perez Rosales Path, and cycling through the old lava streams in the Conguillo National Park were particular highlights.
We also had a great group of 15 people who all added greatly to our enjoyment.
Nigel & Ceri Johnson, Christchurch, New Zealand View TourI thoroughly enjoyed my first redspokes bike tour. I’ve never been on a bike tour before and was probably the least prepared (not really a cyclist), so found it very challenging. However, being able to get in the van when the mountains were too steep took away any stress and Gustavo is great company.
By the end of the trip I was fitter and have become more enthusiastic about cycling and determined to do more at home in preparation for my next tour!
Apart from the cycling itself, the scenery was spectacular and the two rest days gave us a chance to explore the lake District more. It’s a very well planned trip.
Thank you to the team for all your support. I loved it!
Sheila Ashley, Devizes, England, UK View TourOur first redspokes tour was a great experience. Beautiful landscapes, varied terrain with challenge for all levels of rider, very good organisation and crew and a lovely, multinational riding group.
Highly recommended.
Paul Ashley, Devizes, England View TourThis was my first redspokes tour. Booking was simple, organisation was efficient, the support crew were excellent and hotel/food very good. However the route, scenery, weather and group members made this Chile/Argentina adventure an outstanding and memorable trip that I think catered for the expectations of all – roll on the next one !
Patricia & Gavin Prise, Aberdeen, Scotland View TourI thought the tour guides were excellent. They were organized, had great coffee stops, were at every intersection with a turn, kept us all where we needed to be, offered super suggestions for extra activities. They were warm and friendly – really among the best guides we have ever had.
Randi Friedman, Connecticut, United States View TourAn extraordinarily well designed trip by any measure. Our Argentinian guides were sensitive to the cycling and personal needs of a group that ranging from age 27 to 73. The Patagonian landscape went beyond my expectations and continued to awestruck me till the last day.
Hats off to the entire redspokes team for their organizational team. I am so glad I took this trip.
Paul Brissette, Massachusetts, United States View TourI had high expectations for this tour but it exceeded those expectations in pretty well every way. The scenery is spectacular but what pleasantly surprised me was that every day had something a bit different, from volcanoes to lakes to lava plains to gravel roads through forests or 15 km downhill screamers on tarmac. The guides were truly amazing; they put a lot of work in every day including the morning briefing, setting-out the ‘magic table’ at the always-welcome break stops (chocolate, coffee, bananas, energy bars, water) and loading and unloading the bikes and gear into the support vehicles. They calmly smoothed out any language or culture hiccups.
Diego and Jeronimo are also just two lovely blokes who are smart, work hard and genuinely cared about giving us clients a great experience. The trip has a fair amount of off-tarmac riding which was a big part of why I chose it but if you don’t like gravel roads and just want tarmac, this trip isn’t for you.
Keith Russell, Bath, England, UK View TourThis was my first organised tour and the guides and helpers could not have been better – organised, friendly and helpful. The Patagonia Lake District route was a great mix of scenic roads and gravel trails. The variety of stunning landscape and overnight stops in both small towns and more remote locations meant I felt I experienced some of the culture as well as the breathtaking countryside.
The amount and type of cycling was about right for me, and the boat trips across the lakes added variety and interest to the tour. The mix of people I met on the tour also made it a great social trip. Overall it was a fantastic and very memorable holiday.
Mark Beaven, Nottingham, England, UK View TourA great trip. Well organised, fantastic guides, good accommodation. Stunning scenery, and we had the added luck of having good weather and a great group that really stuck together. What particularly struck me is how this worked well as a group trip, but that it was still possible for everyone to go at their own speed, and that all abilities were catered for.
A HUUUGE thumbs up for the guides (Diego, Tolkeyen, Bosco). Great fun to be with, and they really were organising whizz-kids – predicting where there were potential difficulties and working their way around these (e.g. organising transfers if poor road conditions were expected), so that we did not even notice – everything just worked.
Thank you also for the very good pre-trip communication and prompt responses whenever I got in touch. That was also very helpful. This was my first redspokes tour. It won’t be my last…
Ursula, Oxford, England, UK View TourEverything about our trip was excellent, from the hard working staff to the beautiful scenery.
I shall definitely be recommending Redspokes tours to my friends!
Audrey Midgley, Ilkley, England, UK View TourThe views were stunning. The biking had a variety of pavement, dirt, gravel, hills which made it very enjoyable since it was always changing. The support was amazing. I went with my husband and 17-year old son. The guides and group were incredibly accommodating of our varying levels of biking.
What a fantastic way to spend a vacation!
Nina Markham, La Molina, Peru View TourI have been on several overseas cycling trips before and this one exceeded my expectations. Our guide, Tolke, driver Diego and mechanic Bosco were excellent. The planning of each day, attention to detail by Tolke and Diego and transfers were expertly handled with no hitches. The hotels and lodges were very well selected – a super combination of very good lodges and hostels with a little luxury occasionally (well we deserved it).
And as for the route – just brilliant! Cycling in the Patagonian Lakes was a bit of a dream come true for me – lakes, volcanoes, waterfalls, forests and fields under massive blue skies with high whispy clouds. Cycling was varied too, sometimes tough, but always enjoyable on gravel, forest tracks or tarmac. Just a great trip!
Paul Fisher, Walsall, UK View TourAnother great trip with redspokes. Stunning scenery, fun group and great crew. Some of the gravel roads were a challenge but not insurmountable – the ferry crossings provided a welcome respite & a chance to take in the majestic landscape.
Special thanks to Tolkeyen & Alejandro for looking after us so well. We’ve already booked our next redspokes adventure!
Ruth & Phil Dunnell, Surrey, UK View TourI had never been on a group cycling holiday before so I was not sure what to expect. I am very pleased to say that this was an absolutely fantastic experience. The scenery in both Chile and Argentina was truly spectacular. Cycling beside the huge lakes with the snow topped volcanos was stunning.
The two guides Jeronimo and Gustavo were so helpful and friendly. My fellow cyclists from all over the world were really great company and very supportive of each other. The accommodation and food varied from location to location but was always great. I really loved it, I’m already planning another trip.
Tom Carroll, Bishops Stortford, UK View TourPhenomenal trip. We both loved the cycling and the scenery. The trip was made extra special by the personalities there. The other members of the group were great and we loved the combination of the guides. Tolkeyen who was shy and more reserved but helpful, sincere and very kind and Alejandro who was fun, knowledgable and organised and who mother ducked us around the trip.
I would without hesitation go on another redspokes trip and in fact went straight onto the site on returning home to check out the Albania trip for next year. Thank you for an AMAZING holiday and especially to the guides, who made everything run so smoothly.
Beth de Sousa, Exeter, UK View TourBoth my husband and myself our in our 60s and this was our second group bike tour and first one with Redspokes and wow it was fabulous. We are relatively experienced cyclists but at times I found some of the rides and terrain challenging but got a great feeling of satisfaction and the scenic rewards were jaw dropping especially in Argentina and we loved the catamaran transfers.
The accommodation was very varied from a rustic ski lodge to a 5 star luxury hotel and all but one great with delicious breakfasts, lunches and evening meals. Our guide Tolke was excellent and very knowledgable in the history and geography of the area and cared about everyone along with Matti his co guide and Manu’ll kept us entertained and fed with delicious and healthy snacks and there to support you if in need.
The support team was also great and very helpful. I would highly recommend this trip and thank you Redspokes.
Jackie Smith, Blackburn, England, UK View TourMy Chile/Argentina trip was booked in 2020 and Covid was quick to cancel it. 2025 I joined 10 others and several “RED SPOKES veterans” to make this dream come true and the trip was more than amazing.
The guides were exceptional tending to our every need. So well-organized, we were handed our room keys when the day was over, our luggage was at our door, the van was ready for us at all times, included meals were wonderful and the lodging from lake-front hotels in Bariloche to eco-lodges in 4 places were unsurpassed. No wonder they keep coming back to Red Spokes for more! I’m getting ready to book their Morocco trip for 2 weeks in 2026. For a bike trip of a lifetime, click onto their site and make it happen. You will not be disappointed.
